Having an outdoor speaker system is incredibly cool, but it's not always the most convenient thing to hook up new sources to on the fly. The newest speaker from Russound is different. Russound says that the AirGo Outdoor Sound Station is the first ever to include AirPort compatibility. Simply pick up an AirPort Express, plug it in to the weather-proof chamber of the AirGo and you're ready to rock. You'll be able to hook up to your iPod, iPhone or iPad using AirPlay.
One of the added benefits of using an AirPort Express in your outdoor speakers is, of course, that the AirPort can act as a repeater, giving you extended range on your wireless network. Russound doesn't brad too much about the audio abilities of the speaker, though we'll let you draw your own conclusions on just what that means. Whatever the audio quality, we're hoping that the AirPort/AirPlay thing catches on with more devices, including outdoor systems. You can pick up the Russound AirGo Outdoor Sound System now for $399. |
