PSB Speakers, long renowned for affordable excellence, continues to add more styles and options for today’s growing residential A/V market. PSB is now shipping the VisionSound VS400, which joins the VS300 in this new series of loudspeakers for the residential market.

The VS400 is a floor standing unit that is tall and elegant, a visually appealing complement to the most sophisticated televisions and contemporary furniture. It is the perfect match in style and performance for today’s flat panel LCD and Plasma TVs.

“The PSB VisionSound VS400 speakers may be fashionable but they also deliver our famous sonic signature without compromise,” says David Smith, PSB’s Director of Product Development. “PSB will never let style or trends give way to function (or performance).”

The VS400 is a sonic performer on par with the best floorstanding PSB speakers. It uses four 4.5” wide suspension woofers and a vented system design that makes it possible to get maximum bass from the speaker’s minimum dimensions. The 1” Neodymium magnet tweeter is optimized for the highest performance using a carefully contoured waveguide, which blends seamlessly into the obstruction-free face of the system’s cabinet.

Earlier this year PSB began shipping the VisionSound VS300, a highly versatile speaker that can be placed in a variety of ways. The VS300 is designed primarily for on-wall mounting next to 42-inch and larger flat panel displays, incorporating a unique crossover circuit that flattens the frequency response for on-wall mounting. This corrective circuitry precisely fills in the 400 to 500Hz depression created from mounting speakers against the wall and equalizes the system back to flat. When the speaker is table mounted, the circuit should be defeated.

The VS300’s wall mounting bracket turns over a broad range of angles so that it can be aimed inward for best stereo effect. The same bracket, with the addition of two feet, becomes a center channel for placing atop a TV or in front of a table mounted set. With optional desktop base it can be used as a mini monitor on open entertainment centers designed for flat panel displays.

Both models are enclosed in rigid and attractive aluminum extrusions (black or titanium finish), which are acoustically inert and durable.

Both models are currently shipping. The VS400 sells for $999 each and the VS300 is $749 each. The optional base for the VS300 is $149 per pair.
