If you're looking for a combination of quality and affordability, Polk has always been a great way to go. The new LSiM line is certainly indicative of that reputation, putting high quality components into easily affordable speakers. The LSiM 707 and 705 are the two floorstanding speakers in the lineup, each featuring transducers built with Polk's Dynamic Balance technology, 3.25 inch mid-range drivers and one inch AIR ring tweeter.
The 705, which comes in at $1,499, sports a pair of 5.25 inch mid-woofers and dual 5x7 inch ELM subwoofers. The $1,999 707 kicks those mid-woofers up to 6.5 inches, and the dual subs to 6x9. You'll find similar specs to the 705, minus the subs, in the LSiM 703 bookshelf speaker.
The lineup also includes a pair of center channel speakers, both of which incorporate the same tweeter as the floorstanding speakers as well as a 3.5 inch mid-bass driver. The LSiM 706c ($1,099) incorporates a pair of 6.5 inch mid-bass drivers while the LSiM 704c ($699) uses 5.25 inch drivers.
Lastly, Polk introduced a new surround speaker, the LSiM 702f/x. Like the others in the lineup, the LSiM 702f/x uses a 3.25 inch midrange driver, a pair of one inch AIR ring tweeters. It also incorporates a 6.25 inch mid-bass driver, and can be had for a price of $749 each. You'll be able to pick up Polk's new LSiM line when it launches at the beginning of next year.
