With elements from the Paradigm and Paradigm Reference lines, Paradigm’s new Special Edition speakers are designed to look impressive. They feature wood veneer cabinets, soft edges, and a simple slick look. Paradigm’s SE-1 bookshelf/stand-mounted speakers feature two drivers, while the SE-3 floorstanding speakers feature four.
Both use a 5-1/2” M-ICP for mid and bass ranges and a 1” H-PTD dome tweeter. The SE-1 retails for $299, and SE-3, which also features two 5-1/2” carbon infused polypropylene bass drivers carries a $699 price tag. The SE center speaker features four drivers with a 3-way center channel. Like the SE-3 it offers two 5-1/2” bass drivers, a 5-1/2” M-ICP for mids and a 1” H-PTD tweeter. The center channel speaker can be had for $499. With 900 watt peak power and 300 watt RMS sustained, the SE Subwoofer finishes up the Paradigm SE line. The SE Subwoofer features a 10” driver with a CAP Carbon/Aramid Fiber Polypropylene cone. Paradigm boasts a comprehensive range of controls, including a USB port for use with the Perfect Bass Kit Room Correction System. Paradigm’s SE Subwoofer sells for an MSRP of $699. |
