A home-theater-in-a-box may not be the best solution for your main viewing area, but Onkyo's latest HTiBs look like a pretty good choice for a secondary viewing area. The HT-6300 and HT-7300 have very similar capabilities. Both systems incorporate 3D ready receivers with four HDMI 1.4 inputs. They both handle lossless Dolby and DTS audio codecs, and they both upscale video to 1080p courtesy of a Faroudja DCDi Cinema processor.
Both the 6300 and 7300 come with a 290 watt subwoofer and a receiver capable of delivering 130 watts at six ohms to seven channels. The primary difference between the two systems is that while the 6300 features six bookshelf speakers, the 7300 replaces two of those with floorstanding speakers with dual woofers. The HT-6300 runs $749 while the HT-7300 sells for $899. Both systems are available now.
