Let’s face it, no matter how old you get, things that turn into other things – Transformers, if you will – are still cool. The idea of a pool table and a wet bar rising up from the floor is awe inspiring, and there’s even a little part of you that really wants a Murphy bed. Enter the Boxetti Thrill. The Thrill, when collapsed, looks for all intents and purposes like an odd table. It’s large and glossy white, and has a few cracks in it that look like drawers. They might look like strangely placed drawers, but drawers nonetheless. With the touch of a button, or a remote control, the Boxetti Thrill opens up. Two wings open outward on the left and right to reveal speakers - a woofer, a midrange speaker and a tweeter – on each side. The middle opens to show two additional mids, a tweeter and a much larger woofer as well as enough room for a Blu-ray player and a 7.1 channel receiver. Finally, an automatic HAFELE lift system raises a television of up to 46” from the cabinet and up to viewing height. The Boxetti Thrill is only available in Europe at the moment, with a price tag of 5,520 Euros, or about $8,000 USD. |
