Bowers & Wilkins has been in the audiophile game for quite some time.  They have delivered amazing floorstanding loudspeakers, a rockin’ sound system for the Jaguar automobile and stunned listeners with the Zeppelin for the iPod.  Now, B&W presents us with the Panorama, a soundbar that gives our flat-panel TVs stereo and surround sound from one speaker.

The Panorama uses multiple drive units and Digital Signal Processing to boost the quality of your TV audio.  The width of the soundbar provides an ultra-wide sweet spot.  The aluminum chassis of the Panorama houses nine drive units.  Five of the drives are used for the active center channel, two drives reproduce the bass, and the final two control the midrange.  Lastly there is an aluminum dome tweeter featuring B&W’s Nautilus Tube Loaded Technology.

Each drive is located within its own housing structure to provide maximum purity and separation.  The drives use Class D amplifiers and provide a total output power of 175Watts.  For most standard-sized rooms, no additional subwoofer is needed.

The Panorama is designed for flat-panel TVs, size 37-inch and up.  It will be available in the Spring of 2009 for a retail price of $2,200.

That's a huge chunk of change for what it is!

They may be relatively expensive but when only the best will do and space is
limited, B&W can be counted on to deliver the goods!
