Cool as it is, the RedEye Mini isn't without problems. An entire batch of the devices has been recalled by maker ThinkFlood. The official recall states that due to an issue with construction, "There is a high likelihood that these units will fail." The release goes on to say that "as a result of being improperly secured, circuit boards are coming loose from their housings."
The problem only affects one batch of units that starts with serial number C0101. Newer units don't have the issue. ThinkFlood has already switched manufacturers so that this problem won't occur in the future.
If you purchased a defective unit, ThinkFlood is going to send you a new one as soon as they're available. If you'd prefer a refund instead of a new RedEye, you'll need to email firstname.lastname@example.org and let them know.
