NetStreams Releases New Musica Keypad With Integrated FM Tuner Print E-mail
Monday, 20 September 2004
NetStreams announces the new MU4602KP50-FM - the first in-wall keypad with an integrated FM Tuner as part of its Musica line. The audio distribution system, which delivers quality sound and interactive keypads, can play selected FM radio stations in separate rooms. The MU4602KP50-FM keypad includes an integrated 50 watt/channel digital amplifier and 96 kHz/24-bit Burr Brown Digital to Analog Converters for high audio fidelity. Control of the Musica System is easy with large, soft touch buttons and an LCD screen. Faceplate color options of white, almond, ivory or black allow the MU4602KP50-FM to unobstrusively integrate with a user's interior design.

Additionally the keypad features a hookup for an FM antenna, which mounts in between studs during installation. This is an innovative and exciting addition to the Musica MU4602 line that began shipping in April.

The advanced design of NetStreams' Musica 4602 Audio Distribution System places digital amplifiers in each room, behind each keypad, rather than in one central location. This improves sound quality by reducing noise, distortion and power losses as well as increasing reliability and simplifying the installation. FM tuner keypads are optional.

The Musica System's audio ports are highly flexible allowing the output of the distributed audio to be coupled with a powered subwoofer or external amplifier, if so desired, as well as the input of a "local source" such as a TV monitor or cable box. The system will handle one local source per keypad/amplifier. Musica is capable fo playing up to four difference sources independently; distributing the sources to as many as 6 rooms per audio distribution center. With additional audio distribution centers, the system can expand to 18 rooms of audio.

The MU4602KP50-FM keypad is slated to ship this month, and the retail price for the Musica 402 System starts at $2,500.
