The days of the dedicated touch panel seem to be numbered thanks to the release of the iPad, which is making big moves into the home theater.
The folks at Autonomic have announced an iPad app designed to control their MMS-5 and MMS-2 media servers as well as the MCS Mirage Media Control System. "With the ever growing popularity of the iPad, this app was a natural progression for us," says CEO Michael di Nigris. Automonic's app will allow you to browse and control your media collection, and will let you access multiple iTunes libraries, stream from Pandora, and access thousands of free online radio stations across the globe. "Mirage Media Servers are known for cloud-based access and control of content from anywhere at any time," says Nigris. "Someone who already carries an iPad wherever he or she goes can forego the high cost of dedicated touchpanels." |
