It’s important to keep certain components separate from each other in audio products. Most companies simply compartmentalize their amplifiers, but Vincent takes a different approach. The PHO-8 is a single amplifier that consists of two individual pieces.
The first component is the preamplifier itself, designed for low noise operation. When dealing with an MC cartridge, you’ll net a 71dB ratio, while the amplifier’s MM section delivers an 84dB signal to noise ratio. It’s got a pair of RCA inputs, a ground connection, and a pair of RCA outputs. The other component is the power supply. It’s got a large transformer and filter capacitors, and a voltage regulator designed to eliminate line ripples. Power from the supply is sent via a five pin DIN plug. You can pick up the Vincent PHO-8 now in either a silver or black finish at a price of $399. |
