Emotiva's USP-1 is an analog path stereo preamplifier controlled by a microprocessor. It comes equipped with a Home Theater Bypass as well as a bass management system. It's being priced at $399. The 2-channel preamplifier has seven stereo inputs, a tape monitor loop, headphone output and illuminated front dials in the black casing.
The unit weighs 14 pounds with a dimension of 17" W by 14" Deep by 4.25" high. The unit will begin shipping in early July and a $50 discount can be snapped if purchased by July 1st. Emotiva is working on a second preamplifier, the XSP, which will be released before the end of 2009. They are also building a Class H amplifier to replace the MPS-2. It will come equipped with 7 channels at 400 watts per channel. There's no target release date for the new amp. |
