Outlaw Audio has introduced two new high power multichannel amplifiers featuring fully balanced differential topology for improved performance. The five-channel Model 7500 and seven-channel Model 7700 each deliver 200 Watts per channel into 8-Ohms, and 300 Watts into 4 Ohms (20 Hz – 20kHz, all channels driven) with a total harmonic distortion of less than 0.03%.

"These new models represent a substantial upgrade to our acclaimed Model 770 and 755 multichannel amplifiers," comments Outlaw spokesman Scott Jackson. "The addition of balanced inputs and a fully complementary circuit design means they develop the same power as the models they replace, but with substantial improvements in distortion and an inherently lower noise floor."

The high-current power supplies used in the Model 7700 and Model 7500 are driven by custom-designed dual toroidal transformers with multiple windings for each channel, delivering clean power with headroom to spare for even the largest dynamic transients. Each output module has 12 discrete output devices, and a total of 30,000 microfarads of filter capacitance.

The differential design of the Model 7700 and Model 7500 employs common-mode rejection technology to reduce crosstalk to greater than -100dB. When used with the Balanced XLR inputs in combination with a balanced preamplifier/processor such as the Outlaw Audio Model 990, the amplifiers also benefit from a 6dB improvement in gain thanks to the complementary design. Each channel of the amplifiers includes a massive heat sink, eliminating the need for noisy cooling fans even when operating at rated power.

Low voltage trigger inputs are provided for seamless operation with compatible electronics, such as Outlaw's Model 970 and 990 preamp/processors and Model 1070 receiver. An advanced Opto-coupled protection circuit protects the amplifiers from damage without the use of fuses.

The Outlaw Model 7700 and Model 7500 Power Amplifiers are available for immediate shipment solely through the Outlaw's website at www.outlawaudio.com. The price of the amplifiers is set at $2,149 for the seven-channel Model 770, and $1,599 for the five-channel Model 7500, with special "Outlaw Family" pricing available when the amplifiers are purchased in a combination package with other Outlaw components.
