Densen has just unveiled its most powerful amplifier produced to date. Products specs include a power supply that uses an encapsulated toroidal transformer, the ability to run in Class A for the majority of normal listening power requirements because of recessed heatsinks and detailed volume adjustment made possible by Vishay resistors on the microprocessor-controlled attenuator. It also features 125 watts per channel at 8 ohms and 250 watts at 4 ohms. The B-175 has several optional features as well, including the addition of a dedicated MC or MM phono stage, a board to create a 7.1 channel analog pre, an external power supply, or a SAXO active crossover. The B-175 is shipping now for approximately $10,000. |
