On the heels of the Statement D1 home theater preamplifier/processor, Anthem introduces the Statement P2 and P5 – two-channel and five-channel amplifiers. These amplifiers blend performance with high-end styling to recreate the powerful dynamics of today’s movie and music soundtracks.

Many high-end amplifiers use only one power supply, resulting in reduction of maximum power output and overall efficiency when all of the amplifier’s channels are driven. The P2 and P5 amplifiers feature dual, autonomous power supplies on each channel, allowing the amplifiers to deliver stable and continuous power regardless of the number of channels driven, according to Anthem.

Anthem engineered the P2 and P5 to perform like independent monoblock amplifiers. Each channel is self-contained on its own chassis with glass-epoxy circuit board and heatsink. Each channel also benefits from its own independent power supply. Regardless of whether one channel or all channels are operating, there is no penalty in performance, even when all channels are operating at maximum output according to Anthem. The P2 and P5 also feature fourteen bipolar outputs per channel.

By eliminating fuses in the DC rails, P2 and P5 amplifiers are Direct-Connected TM to the power supply. This keeps output impedance low while making more power available to the amplifier and ultimately the speakers. If an output short circuit does occur, only the AC line breaker will trip so you will not have to replace any fuses. Once the condition disappears, Positive Temperature Coefficient thermistors (PTCs) automatically restore power to the affected channel(s) and the amplifier becomes fully functional again. Other convenience features include a three-way power on/off feature (manually, 120 Volt-trigger and signal sensing) as well as oversized aluminum heat sinks that eliminate the need for fans that may cause extraneous noise.

Anthem Statement P2 and P5 feature Advanced Load Monitoring (ALM TM) circuitry which protects sensitive output devices by constantly monitoring temperature, current and voltage for optimum performance and to ensure the amps run cool for long term reliability.

Rated at 325-watts into 8 ohms (one or all-channels driven, continuous power) P2 and P5 amps are designed and built in North America. They come with a fine-grained brushed aluminum cover, heavy-gauge 12 AWG steel chassis and blue LEDs. Suggested retail price of the Statement P2 and P5 are $2,499 and $4,999 respectively. Both are shipping now.
