Exactly one year after Crystal View’s company launch, founders David Wolff and Gary Guidi continue with the introduction of 43 inch and 50 inch plasma displays and a single-chip DLP front projector.
The new Crystal View CV-43 HD and CV-50 HD widescreen plasma displays have 1280 x 768 native resolution and a contrast ratio of 1,000:1 for image clarity and depth. Both units are mated with a Crystal View outboard processor that serves as a main switching station and allows for image control adjustments such as aspect ratio, color temperature, brightness and resolution scaling.
Both models are custom framed in a choice of colors or wood grains. Options include a table stand, wall mount and tuner pack. Standard HD connections include component and RGB. Suggested retail prices for the CV-43 HD and CV-50 HD are $11,995 and $16,995.
The new Crystal View CV-HD720P DLP projector incorporates the Texas Instruments HD-2 Mustang DLP-chip that creates 1280 x 720 native lines of widescreen resolution.
Enhanced projector features include a 2,300:1 contrast ratio; 1.75 - 2.25 zoom lens; DVI, Component, RGB, S- and Composite- Video inputs; Infrared RS-232 control and two separate 12-volt output triggers - for motorized screen control and separate dual masking operation. Additionally, a 1:1 wide-angle lens is offered as an option for installations requiring a short throw distance. The projector’s body provides a quiet noise threshold of less than 28 db while simultaneously concealing all mounting hardware and related wiring. The Crystal View CV-HD720P, with its outboard scaler/processor, has a suggested retail price of $16,995.
Prior to shipping, every new Crystal View plasma and DLP projector sold will be calibrated at the company’s Ashland, Massachusetts-based facility. Using its Crystal View outboard video processor as a reference source, Imaging Science Foundation-standardized calibration adjustments will be made in the areas of contrast, black levels, color temperature and gray scale tracking.
Now shipping, the Crystal View Plasma Displays and Single Lens DLP projector are backed by a one-year warranty. (Plasma includes in-home service.)
