ITRI has no end of ideas for applications for the fleXpeaker technology. As stated in a recent press release, “In the future, the paper-thin flexible loudspeakers can be applied to portable 3C products, transportation products and large-size commercial billboards, and can also be integrated with wallpaper and become part of decoration, or cut into various forms at will, develop into handy stickers, speakers for sticking on the body, clothing or other articles, memo cards, thin-sheet MP3, and even be integrated with buildings, and applied to emerging entertainment and medical fields…”
These won’t be replacing standard loudspeakers any time soon though. While they have a high frequency of 20KHz, the lowest frequency response is 200Hz.
