The next generation of Zune, Microsoft’s portable music player, will feature a touch screen, HD radio, web browser and HD video capabilities. The device will be called Zune HD and will offer the same Wi-Fi download capabilities that the Zune currently offers. It will be available this fall.
The device will feature a 3.3 inch OLED screen with a resolution of 480 x 272. It will be able to store and play 720p HD video, as well as output the video onto any HD display with the use of a docking station. In another announcement, Microsoft said that Zune downloads will be available on Xbox Live Marketplace this fall as well, and Zune will occupy the first slot on the Marketplace display.
