Memory-Tech, a Japanese CD manufacturer, has begun replicating client's music in glass. Memory-Tech claims that glass CDs, which they have dubbed “Crystal Discs”, sound better than their polycarbonate counterparts. The glass discs cost approximately $2000 each.
Currently, these "Crystal Discs" appear to be targeted at Japanese audiophiles. Some of the titles currently available include Mariko Senjyu, a Japanese violinist, three other Japanese classical artists, Beethoven and several similar classical artists. |
