Two of the most important artists in the Sony Music catalog now have more new music available on SACD. The Miles Davis record, In A Silent Way is a 1969 album recrafted for multi-channel and stereo reproduction. The roster of performers on the record is staggering including: Wayne Shorter, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Joe Zawinul, John McLaughlin, Dave Holland and Tony Williams. A feature review will be coming soon.
The Aerosmith Best Of release is a stereo only, double SACD and features two new songs “Girls of Summer” and “Lay It Down.” The collection also features all of the favorites you’d expect ranging from classics like “Mama Kin” and “Dream On” to harder rocking classic rock standards like “Walk This Way” and “Sweet Emotion” along with hits from Aerosmith’s mid-1980’s comeback like “Dude (looks like a lady)” and “Janie’s Got a Gun.” On the second SACD, you’ll find the two new songs and some of the more Gen X ballads like “Crazy” and “Amazing” along with the crossover classing “Walk This Way” with Run D.M.C.
