Aperion Audio Releases HAL Wireless Audio Adaptor  Print E-mail

Fully wireless home audio systems are fantastic, but many of them are proprietary, meaning they’ll only work with equipment sold by the same company.  A lot of your components can wind up getting shelved in favor of the more convenient listening method.

Aperion’s Home Audio Link (HAL) system is different in that rather than wireless components, they simply provide wireless adaptors.  The basic HAL setup comes with a single sender and a single receiver.  You can attach the send unit to a computer via a USB connection, or use the headphone or RCA attachments to plug it in to an MP3 player or other audio device.  Audio can be sent out through a headphone cable or RCA cable as well.

With HAL, you’re able to send uncompressed audio up to a hundred feet on the 2.4GHz frequency band.  While Aperion pitches this as a home theater system they also mention that the HAL system would be a great way to go wireless with a powered subwoofer.  Aperion sells the HAL system for $149.  Additional receiver units are $70 a piece.

Don T  - Check out Audioengine W1 for $99   |2010-02-14 20:31:57
Higher bitrate (16/44.1) and doesn't broadcast but at $99 for a
transmitter/receiver set it's an inexpensive way to daisy-chain to all your
existing gear around the house.
