Through February 11, 2002 Limp Bizkit will be searching for a replacement guitarist at various Guitar Center stores across the USA. Current Limp Bizkit guitarist and founding member Wes Borland is moving on to other projects such as his new band Big Dumb Face.
Limp Bizkit will be scouring the nation for a guitarist to fill Borland’s shoes, and will giving everyone interested in auditioning a shot. On their website www.limpbizkit.com, frontman Fred Durst released a statement about the hunt for the new Limp Bizkit axeman.
"We're going to comb the globe in search of the illest guitar player known to man. Then we're gonna take this illest guitar player known to man and we're gonna finish writing the sickest new undeniable Limp Bizkit record you could ever imagine"
The rules for the audition contest are as follows:
Pre-auditions for each tour stop start at 10am each day for your chance to play with/and audition for Limp Bizkit that night.
You will be expected to play/jam in order to show your originality and proficiency on guitar, now how well you can play Limp Bizkit covers.
A select number of applicants who have already submitted audition samples to http://www.mp3.com/putyourguitarwhereyourmouthis will be flown to nearby tour stops for an audition.
