Grammy winning rap star Eminem was sentenced to one year probation and community service today in Pontiac, Michigan according to a RollingStone.com report. Eminem (Marshall Mathers) had been charged for carrying a concealed weapon and brandishing a firearm in public on April 23, 2001 in relation to an event involving Douglas Dail, an associate of the band Insane Clown Posse.
One must wonder if this slap on the wrist to this angry masoginist is enough to change his behavior. With both of his solo records well into the multi-platinum range, you'd expect Mr. Mathers to wise up and enjoy the role of the biggest star in pop music. Yet he continues to show is lack of tact by picking public fights with Brittany Spears (shouldn't he be trying to get her phone number instead?) and behaving foolishly as he was convicted for in this case. Eminem is not just a bad role model for kids, he is a talentless performer that lives off the stellar production of Dr. Dre and the intentionally created controversy that constantly surrounds him. Count on his record to be selling in the bargain bin at your local used CD bin right next to fellow morons like Vanilla Ice and Tupac. |
