John Lee Hooker, legendary bluesman and influence to rock stars ranging from Van Morrison to Bonnie Raitt to Carlos Santana, died last night at his home near San Francisco. Hooker's most recognizable song "Boom Boom" has been covered by nearly every blues band on the planet and used in numerous television commercials. His gravely voice and hard hitting, soulful style will be missed by millions.
