To remain competitive when up against Apple, both Walmart and Amazon have restructured their music downloads to incorporate tiered pricing. Apple’s restructuring, to include MP3s for 69 cents, 99 cents or $1.29 songs occurred on April 7th.
On the same date, Walmart unveiled its 64 cents, 94 cents and $1.24 MP3 offerings, and Amazon has recently restructured its offerings to become broader, including 69 cents, 89 cents, 99 cents and $1.29 levels. Albums are sometime cheaper to buy in one go rather than purchasing single downloads, especially at the higher tiers, in all of the online stores. |
