Normally a motorcycle festival isn’t the kind of event that we get too excited about here at AudioRevolution.com, but things changed when word got out that the remaining members of The Doors were getting together for the Los Angeles stop on Harley Davidson’s “The Open Road 2002-2003” tour. Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger, John Densmore and “musical guests” will perform on Friday September 6th as The Doors.
No official announcement has been made as to who these “guests “ will be but AudioRevolution.com insiders say since the addition of Stone Temple Pilots to the Los Angeles tour stop, STP lead singer Scott Weiland, a disciple of the Jim Morrison church of living in the rock and roll fast-lane, could front The Doors on stage. STP are slated to perform on Saturday, September 7th. In a musical climate filled with boy bands and early 20’s pop punk rockers, Scott Weiland is one of the only front men in music today who could come close to filling Morrison’s shoes if even for only one night.
Other bands scheduled to perform at the three-day event at the California Speedway include Los Lobos, Nickleback, Billy Idol, George Clinton & Parliament/Funkadelic, Journey and the Doobie Brothers.
The tour stops on the 10 city worldwide tour are Atlanta, Baltimore, Toronto, Dallas, Mexico City, Sydney. Tokyo, Barcelona and Munich.
