Ozzy’s Crazy Train Coming to a Town Near You - Ozzfest 2002 Print E-mail
Friday, 22 March 2002
For the seventh year in a row, Ozzfest will be coming to a town near you (32 of them to be exact) to rock the kids and wake the neighbors.

The Ozz man will perform along with his ultra-tight band consisting of guitarist Zakk Wylde, bassist Robert Trujillo of Suicidial Tendencies fame, and former Faith No More drummer Mike Bordin. From the ashes of Rage Against the Machine, the currently unnamed spin-off band with Soundgarden front man Chris Cornell along with former Ragers Tim Commerford, Tom Morello, and Brad Wilk will perform their first tour together.

Armenian metallers System of a Down are sure to get the pits swirling as are San Diego’s double platinum spiritual rockers P.O.D.

Adema and Zakk Wylde’s Black Label Society will open the main stage bill. Rob Zombie will headline the second stage playing a very stripped down, bare bones set, something he hasn’t done since his early days playing small clubs in hole-in –the-wall clubs in the underworld of the New York metal club scene.

Rounding out the bill are Swedish marauders Meshuggah, Apex Theory, Lost Prophets, Pulse Ultra, and Neurotica. Playing for half of the tour in half will be Flaw, Mushroomhead, 3rd Strike, Otep, Seether, Glassjaw, Used, Soil, Ill Nino, and Chevelle.

In addition to three stages of music, The Village of the Damned, the circus-like concourse of attractions, exhibitors (featuring, as always, piercing booths and tattoo parlors), and exhibitionists (there are rumors of breast painting) will return to scare your parents.
