Journey hits the Road in 2001 Print E-mail
Thursday, 22 March 2001
Power ballad fans, get your lighters ready! Journey has just announced a 56 city US tour that will feature Peter Frampton as well as John Waite (Bad English.) Hitting store shelves April 3rd, Journey’s new record, Arrival, is the band's eighteenth studio release and features the new singles "Higher Place" and "All the Way."

Journey has eight multi-platinum albums and have sold over 50,000,000 records to date. They may not have original lead singer Steve Perry fronting the band, but a Journey show, even with Steve Augeri on lead vocals, could transport you right back to 1981 when spadex was king and IROC Camaros roamed the land. Always a sensitve rock band, Journey’s music may not be too relevant to what is going on in music today, but the nostalgia factor alone could make this tour worth seeing.

Beginning Friday, April 6th and throughout the month of April, DirecTV will also air an exclusive broadcast of Journey's 2001 New Year's Eve weekend performance at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas as part of its Freeview Event Series. The broadcast will be available to over 9.5 million residential and commercial DirecTV customers.

Tickets for Journey's "Arrival 2001" tour will be on sale beginning Friday, April 6th Tickets are available at local Ticketmaster outlets, www.ticketmaster.com and additional ticket outlets in each tour market.

Journey is Neal Schon (guitar, vocals) Ross Valory (bass, vocals) Jonathan Cain (keyboards, vocals) Deen Castronovo (drums, vocals) Steve Augeri (vocals). For additional Journey information, visit www.journeymusic.com
