LG and Intel have formed a strategic alliance that's going to be putting wireless streaming into 3D smart TVs as soon as next year. The technology is called WiDi, and it works specifically with Intel based products. You won't need an adapter and you definitely won't need any cords between the two devices.
One thing that's particularly interesting about WiDi is that you won't need to set up a wireless network to send content from your PC to your TV - the connection between the TV and the laptop will be enough. You'll be able to stream anything on your laptop, including videos from Netflix, YouTube and the like. LG hasn't revealed which models specifically will have this feature, but they did specifically point to 3D Smart TVs.
