According to iSuppli, VIZIO will have shipped 15% of all flat panels in the US in the 4th quarter of 2008, firmly placing them to the position of the second largest shipper of these TVs. They sold 1,238,840 units in Q4 of 2008, which was an increase of 15% over the same quarter in 2007. They also experienced a growth of 58% in flat panel TV shipment from Q3 to Q4 of 2008.
VIZIO is moving upwards, surpassing its own estimates of Holiday TV sales, selling 52% more than 2007 during the period of November 24th to December 31st. Despite the economic downturn, VIZIO appears to be doing well. It is now regularly ranking among the top five best-sellers of flat panel TVs in the US, and its strategy of value-pricing and creating smaller and high-performance devices is matching well with consumer demand.
