TVs just keep getting bigger, with each company trumping the other over and over again. The latest mega set is from Sharp, who has constructed a 90 inch LCD display that's equipped with local dimming LEDs and promises excellent performance, even in places with high amounts of ambient light. That's essential, because the PN-R903 is made for use in commercial signing.
The TV is designed to be positioned sideways, and stands 6'8", which means that a normal sized human will fit on the screen nicely. This translates to life sized wall advertisements, which feature actual sized people. It's a little bit Blade Runner, but also a little bit creepy. The set starts shipping in January at a price not yet disclosed. |
