Quick to reply to the matter, a representative from Samsung has said that the ruling will have no ill effect on their sales. “We are fully committed to honor our responsibility to our business partners and are taking appropriate actions to meet the market demand for Samsung LCD panels and products without any interruption,” stated spokesman James Chung. Two of the patents relate to a way to control the alignment of liquid crystals to improve brightness and response, one is for an LCD with a wider viewing angle and the final patent is related to techniques that reduce flickering. Thanks to alternate workaround technology that will be able to be integrated into displays, Samsung says there should be no issues. On a happy note for Samsung, there’s a sixty day presidential review period. Samsung is hoping that Barack Obama will overturn the ban and rule that eliminating these products would be against the common interest.
