Sony announced today that its line of BRAVIA internet capable TVs have joined the ever growing ranks of devices capable of streaming videos from Netflix. A quick firmware update – and of course, a Netflix account – is all users need to get up and running with the service.
According to the press release from Netflix, the Sony products that will be able to use the service consist of all Sony BRAVIA Internet Video capable HDTVs, previous BRAVIA models compatible with Sony's BRAVIA Internet video link module and the Sony Network Blu-ray Disc Player.
New players should be Netflix ready right out of the box this holiday season, but existing owners will need to connect and download a firmware update to get the added functionality. This will certainly add to the appeal of these Sony products this holiday season, but Netflix is almost certainly getting the most out of the deal.
