LG's modus operandi in the last few months has been to show us gear that we want, but can't have. First it was a slick OLED only available overseas, then flexible e-paper that might never hit the market. The latest reveal from LG is one of those things that we can all agree on. This needs to be in living rooms now.
The 84 inch ultra high definition (UHD) display that LG is showing off now is amazing. It's got a resolution of 3840 x 2160, which is four times that of the now standard 1080p set. Oh, and it's 3D capable too, with less than 1 percent cross-talk. If that's not good enough for you, LG is also showing off a 47 inch 3D LCD that uses a liquid lens to eliminate the need for 3D glasses, a 9.7 inch color e-paper display, and a panel that measures just 2.6mm thick. |
