Though the name seems to imply tiny little robots running around and improving your TV, it's really in reference to an incredibly thin film that sits in front of the LEDs on LG's newest sets. This film is created for the sole purpose of making LED lighting brighter and more uniform, dispersing it evenly across the screen.
LG showed off their first Nano sets - the LW7700 and LW9500 - in New York over the weekend at a preview event. The 7700 has TruMotion 240Hz while the 9500 boasts TruMotion480Hz. Both sets offer full LED backlighting with local dimming when viewing 2D or 3D content.
Screen size ranges from 47 inches on up to 60, but we'll have to wait until CES to find out further specifics like pricing and availability.
