2013 is the year that we finally get OLED TVs in decent sizes at not terribly ridiculous prices. The 9,999 pounds or approximately $13,000 that LG wants for its 55 inch set will set you back bit, but it's a big step from the $2,500 11-inch OLED that Sony first put on the market. Deliveries in the UK will start in July. LG is going to be shipping this set to US retailers later on this month, and pricing is set at $12,000 even.
While early adopters aren't always indicative of what the general public will buy, much will certainly be made of the sales numbers between OLED sets and UHDTV sets, both of which are new on the scene this year. With higher resolution sets out, it might be a bit too late for a 1080p OLED set to hit the market.
