JVC is now shipping a new line of high definition LCD televisions with HDMI inputs, CableCard compatibility and integrated ATSC tuners that gives users a clean look by eliminating the need for separate set-top boxes. The line features high-resolution, 770p, 1366x768 W-XGA LCD displays in a range of sizes from 26 to 40 inches and retails between $2,499.95 and $4,999.95. A dual IEEE 1394 input allows users to connect the set to a video camera or other device, while the top of the line’s 40-inch set also features a memory card slot for easy viewing of images from a digital camera.
The line boasts proprietary JVC technology, including the Digital Image Scaling Technology, which optimizes images by up-converting any lower-quality video source to 770p. A 32-bit CPU is included to control picture refinement. Their Five-Point Color Management system samples red, green, blue, yellow and flesh tones, adjusting each individually for vivid color, while the Digital Super Detail edge enhancement helps define crisp edges on still, fast and slow motion pictures. The line also showcases some of JVC’s home theater features like the TheaterPro D6500L Color Temperature and Interactive Plug-in Menu.
