B&O’s BeoVision 7 has, in the past, only been available in one 40” size. Hearing the demand for larger screens, Bang & Olufsen has announced their new BeoVision 7-55 LCD. While the Beovision 7-55 retains many of the features of the 40 inch version, there have been a few improvements made, including a new LED backlighting feature. Based on a new direct-type LED lighting scheme, the BeoVision 7 features local dimming that should ensure a high contrast ratio and smooth picture. Just like in its predecessor, the BeoSystem 3 video engine handles signal processing. The set also includes the VisionClear package of picture improvement technologies. 120Hz double frame rate technology is featured along with motion compensation and a progressive scanning backlight. The BeoVision 7-55 sports more in the way of audio than most televisions. The included center channel speaker sports 6 x 125 ICEpower amplifiers in a three-way bass reflex speaker system. B&O says that their center channel offers very little distortion, even at high volumes. The B&O BeoVision 7-55 will be available at retail in mid to late November with an MSRP of $18,700. |
