Vizio
has just announced the introduction of their largest LCD HDTV to date -
the 47" GV47LF HDTV LCD. The GV47LF HDTV is the newest member to join
Vizio's line of Gallevia displays. By using a "Full HD" 1080p LCD
panel, the new 47" HDTV continues Vizio's legacy of delivering high-end
performance at surprisingly affordable prices. The Vizio GV47LF HDTV is
available now at stores nationwide for $1,899.99.
In a recent interview, Vizio CEO, William Wang commented on their entry into the Full 1080p HD category of TVs, "Before (the GV47LF), 1080p wasn't affordable. We don't believe anyone can call a TV over $3,000 affordable. Now with the Vizio brand's mission, more families can enjoy the latest in technology improvement in picture quality with Full 1080p HD," stated Wang. The Gallevia's translucent black and silver cabinet elegantly encases a truly impressive display with a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 according to Vizio. The case even has touch-sensitive control keys for another added design detail. It also offers a brilliant 500 cd/m(2) brightness, 800:1 contrast (1600:1 w/ DCR), 16.7 million colors and fast 8ms response rates. The GV47LF's LCD screen comes with IPS Technology for a wide 178-degree viewing angle, and anti-glare hard-coated surface and 50,000-hour half-life for many years of family enjoyment. This 47-inch LCD features the latest in Vizio's Gallevia "picture-frame" industrial design and comes with Vizio’s unique "zero bright-pixel" defect guarantee and free 1-year onsite service. "We expect 1080p TV shipments to rise over 800% from 2006 to 2010 in North America*," said Ross Young, president of market research firm DisplaySearch. "Vizio's breakthrough price for this highly desirable -product, enabled by its unique channel strategy, should help make this forecast a reality. Vizio has risen from the #18 flat panel TV brand in Q3 '05 to #10 in Q3 '06 due to its unique channel strategy, attractive pricing, growing brand strength, product quality and excellent customer support," he indicated. Other GV47LF features include: Full high definition native resolution and support of 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 480p and 480i video signal formats, PIP/POP, CC, V-Chip, a 3D Comb Filter, Motion Adaptive De-Interlacing, 3:2 or 2:2 Reverse Pull-down, an ATSC/QAM/NTSC tuner, selectable Color Temperatures of 6500K, 5400K and 9300K with Independent Red, Green and Blue color adjustments for user fine tuning. GV47LF inputs include Co-axial RF, two HDMI, two Component YPbPr Video, RGB PC VGA-type, S-Video, two Composite Video plus a 5.1 Audio output from DTV input on SPDIF Optical. The GV47LF also features removable speakers and stand plus a backlit universal remote control. The GV47LF is the newest display to join Vizio's line of LCDs, which now includes the 46" GV46L ($1,699.99), the 42" GV42L ($1,299.99), 37" VX37L ($899.99), 32" VX32L ($699.99) and 20" VX20L ($399.99).
