The Vizio P2 has a native resolution of 852 x 480 (pixels) and is compatible with PC resolutions up to XGA (1024 x 768) and HDTV formats including 480p, 1080i and 720p. It comes standard with an integrated 181 channel NTSC/PAL TV tuner, stand and built-in stereo speakers.
The Vizio P2 is a thin (3.5 inch deep) widescreen (16:9) plasma display with a 160-degree viewing angle, 800:1 contrast ratio, and the ability to produce over 16 million colors. V Inc.'s menu driven on-screen control system makes image and color adjustments fast and easier. Home and computer automation is available through a 9-pin RS232C connection.
The Vizio P2 offers a complete range of inputs. Analog video inputs include: RGB (VGA type 15-pin D-Sub), standard or high definition Component Video, RGBHV, S-Video, Composite Video and standard RF. A DVI-D (Digital Video Interface) with HDCP has been included on the Vizio P2 to allow direct digital input to similarly equipped PC or Macintosh computers, HDTV set-top boxes and DVD players such as V Inc.'s Bravo D1. Direct digital connection via DVI eliminates video scaling and noise artifacts that are introduced due to unnecessary analog to digital conversion.
An advanced digital image processor enhances and controls the various sources input to the digital display. It features DCDi motion adaptive deinterlacing to produce progressive scan images from standard definition content and 3:2 pull down of filmed DVD material for flicker-free playback. Four adjustable aspect ratios include: 4:3 or 16:9 (Full), 4:3 to 16:9 (Zoom1) and 4:3 to Modified 16:9 (Zoom2). An adjustable size and position PIP (Picture In Picture) feature allows viewers to keep track of two programs at the same time.
The P2 comes with a one-year standard parts and labor warranty. Optional accessories include wall and ceiling mount units and attachable powered speakers. Weighing 75 lbs. with dimensions of 41.3 inches (W) x 25.5 inches (H) x 3.5 inches (D), the Vizio P2 will be available in October 2003 with a suggested retail price of $2,999.00.
