Piega Speakers To Do 2 Live DVD-Audio Demos – NYC and Greensboro
Swiss speaker company Piega, the largest selling hi-end speaker company in Switzerland and Russia, along with Sanibel Sound have arranged to do two DVD-Audio demos to highlight how their high performance speakers sound with the best in new surround sound musical material on 24 bit DVD-Audio software.
Meridian will be providing the digital electronics with the 800 CD/DVD Player and 861 Reference Surround Controller.
The first event will be at the Sheraton Four Seasons Hotel in Greensboro North Carolina on May 25, 2002 and will feature 5 Piega model 5ltd speakers. They retail at $8,500 per pair and compete with speakers from Wilson, B&W, Revel and others. Jeff Fritz, the managing editor of SoundStage! will be giving a presentation about the possibilities of the DVD-Audio format.
The next weekend (May 30 – June 2, 2002), Piega will be in New York City for the Home Entertainment Show at the New York Hilton & Towers (Murry Hill Suite B) with a similar presentation. The Piega booth will be located two doors down from the Sony SACD demo for those looking to compare and contrast the two competing high resolution audio formats.
Stephen Davis of Sanibel Sound can be reached at (540) 721-1076 for reservations for either events. More information about Piega loudspeakers can be found at www.piega.ch
