The last time Panasonic did a tour to promote 3D technology it was more of a “look what we can do” and less of a sales pitch. It featured footage from the then unreleased Avatar and a 103” screen. The tour Panasonic is kicking off this Monday shows off products that you can actually buy – most of them right now.
Panasonic’s doing a fifteen city tour that includes the expected stops (New York, Chicago) a few surprises (Detroit, Scottsdale), and several other cities where Steve Miller want you to keep a rockin’ him (Philidelphia, Atlanta, L.A.) Oddly, there aren’t a lot of weekend dates. Most of the stops are in malls and run from Monday to Wednesday from 11am to 4pm. If you’ve got a 9 to 5 job, you’re going to have to take some time off if you want to go. It’s all a part of a kick of Panasonic’s called “Touch the Future”. They’re bringing along 3D capable televisions, Skype enabled sets, and some of their other new wares like digital cameras and camcorders. You can get more information on their site at Panasonic.com/Future |
