113,085 people were in attendance at this past CES 2009, according to an audit by Veris Consulting. This number has confirmed that the CES is the industry’s largest trade-show and the largest trade-show in North America. However, the number of people in attendance this year was less than the previous two years, which analysts attribute to the recession.
The number of individuals at CES this year who were top decision-makers was about one third of all those counted. 46% were director-level and above senior representatives, while 20% were presidents, CEOs or business owners. Government policy-makers, the media and industry analysts made up another large chunk of those in attendance. All-in-all, over 20,000 new technologies and products were unveiled at CES ’09 by 2,700 exhibitors.
