Perhaps the one good thing to consider, which is how Netflix is spinning their press release, is that those who wish to be DVD-only customers will now get to do so and save $2 a month ($7.99 / month for 1 DVD out at-a-time) over the previous most affordable plan. As it was before, there remains a $7.99 per month unlimited streaming subscription paln. U.S. Netflix customers will be notified shortly via email, but can log on to thier accounts now to see the complete new list of pricing plans. It's my understanding that these new rates won't apply to existing accounts until the billing period following September 1st, but only if you make no changes to your plan.
