MartinLogan Inks Deal To Display in 178 Tweeter Stores
Many high performance audio companies give lip service to moving away from the dying world of “audiophilia” to move towards a “lifestyle” audience. MartinLogan, in inking a large scale deal with Tweeter to display their products in 178 stores by the end of 2003, just pulled off the rarely accomplished feat.
Encouraged by a successful three-year business relationship in several select markets, the companies made a joint decision to extend MartinLogan loudspeakers to Tweeter, Sound Advice, HiFi Buys, Showcase Home Entertainment and Hillcrest High Fidelity stores nationwide.
"Through the years, we have noticed the high quality of service that Tweeter has maintained even as the company expanded in size," says Gayle Sanders, MartinLogan president and founder. "Now is the right time for MartinLogan and Tweeter to come together and bring high performance audio to the next generation of music lovers. Both companies have a strong desire to grow in a way that supports and enhances the existing quality membership of the MartinLogan distribution group."
The expansion will be rolled out to Tweeter Home Entertainment Group stores in phases, beginning in November 2002 and ending May 2003. The majority of Tweeter stores will represent MartinLogan's suite of entry-level products, reserving MartinLogan's premiere high-end loudspeaker systems for select Tweeter locations in key markets. MartinLogan's current independent dealer network will continue to represent MartinLogan's entire product line.
