Luckily, very few serious injuries have been reported.
Many Sony plants have been shut down temporarily, including the Tagjyo plant that makes Blu-ray discs, a semiconductor manufacturer in Miyagi, and a CD/DVD plant in Ibaraki. Panasonic is similarly shutting down operations in areas affected by the quake until things return to normal, though they've reported no serious damage to their facilities.
Toshiba's plant in Kitakami City which produces logic LSIs was hit strongly, halted operations immediately and will be closed indefinitely. The folks over at Twice (http://www.twice.com/) are doing a great job at getting updates from each of the companies, and have been posting regularly with new information.
