According to the New York Times, that content is on the way. Hulu is working on an iPad app that will allow users to catch up on their favorite TV shows right on the nice portable screen. The only downside is that you might end up having to pay for it.
Hulu has been wrestling with the idea of a subscription based service model for a while now, and it seems like the iPad may be the first place it gets tested. Earlier speculation was that Hulu subscribers would get access to more content, but it now seems that subscriptions could also enable remote viewing.
There aren’t any solid details yet on the planned service, and the question of using the iPad as a WiFi enabled device versus using it as a mobile device on a 3G network is still a bit of a puzzler. Netflix seems to be running into trouble when trying to license their content for mobile devices, and there’s a chance that Hulu may run into the same problem.
