Several new OLED color technologies have been developed by DuPont with long life as the key characteristic. These new OLED materials are designed for the coating process, and they represent the third generation of OLED technology from DuPont. DuPont has created a green light emitting OLED that has a luminance half-life of over a million hours, which measures out to last over 100 years.
The initial luminance must be set to 1,000cd/m2, and its efficiency is currently 25cd/A. The company has also created a blue light material that has a half-life of 38,000 hours at 1,000cd/m2, with an efficiency of 6.0cd/A. Several other materials, including a deeper blue and a red, have been created. DuPont plans to reveal these materials at an academic conference in Texas, the SID Display Week, running from May 31 to June 5. |
