Blu-Con 1.0, a one-day summit for leading Blu-ray developers, marketers and producers, will be held December 8 at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The day-long conference will feature experts who will discuss the many implications related to the creation, production and distribution of high definition physical media.
The program will also provide a platform for attendees to engage in a dialogue on the opportunities and challenges for Blu-ray. Attendees will participate in discussions on a variety of topics, including BD-Live, Digital Copy, Blu-ray and music and a Blu-ray hardware update. There will also be sessions covering authoring, replication, packaging, replication and software tools; a studio creative panel; and exclusive Blu-ray case studies on key titles in the market. "This event is a call to action for the home entertainment community to share knowledge about Blu-ray’s marketing success while focusing on new opportunities for Blu-ray in the future," said DEG President and Warner Home Video President Ron Sanders. "The time is right to advance the learning curve for marketing opportunities presented by Blu-ray Disc products, a truly extraordinary home entertainment experience.” The event is sponsored by DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group, Variety, Video Business and Content Agenda. It has been timed to take place prior to the Video Hall of Fame, which is scheduled for that evening at the same venue. Registration is available to employees of DEG member companies and sponsors only.
