They have vetted a handful of companies to run their recycling program, in a lengthy and detailed process to ensure they were eco-friendly.
Best Buy has posted its recycling standards on its website, for concerned customers to read.
The program allows for each household to bring up to two electronic devices in to any Best Buy store per day to have them recycled. Anything with a screen must include a $10 fee, but the customer will receive a $10 Best Buy gift card in return. California stores and Best-Buy exclusive items don’t require this fee.
Items that are not accepted into the program include TVs that have displays larger than 32 inches, microwaves, major appliances, anything that contains Freon or console TVs.
